A LYTHAM doctor has come up with a winning energy drink to help the Citizen's marathon man Brian Gillibrand tackle the 26-mile slog.
Dr Brian Whitton has produced with a unique formula to boost Brian's performance in the London Marathon's football challenge on April 21.
The 34-year-old runner will be supping the special sugar drink, called Carbon Energy Blitz, for extra strength as he rounds the streets of London decked out in Blackpool Football Club's tangerine strip.
Dr Whitton, of Research Products, on Dock Road, also supplies top athletes including boxer Frank Bruno with special vitamins.
He said: "I'm delighted to be helping out a local athlete and I hope his performance will be even better thanks to our drink."
Brian, who tested the drink out in a 20-mile run along the prom, will able to choose from cherry, orange and strawberry flavours.
He said: "I'm very pleased with the drink. I did quite a few miles and I think it's great for replacing lost energy."
Brian, who also takes MET-RX protein drink supplied by Fitness City on Church Street, Blackpool, works out at the De Vere Hotel's gym.
He added: "I want to use the new drink every day in the month running up to the marathon.
"I am very pleased to be getting so much support from everyone."
