A GLOBE-TROTTING East Lancashire band are waiting with bated breath for what could be their first television appearance.

Four-piece Indie outfit The Syndicate were captured on film while playing a support slot for hit group Marion at the Club Erotica in Paris.

Club Erotica, based within the capital's red light district, has already played host to big-name bands like Blur and The Bluetones.

And Granada TV's Trevor Ward, who travelled to France to see the Cheshire-based headliners, was suitably impressed with the Burnley musicians.

Now Trevor, who hosts Granada Tonight's Friday entertainment slot, says he might be able to include some footage of them.

A spokesman for the band said they were very excited at the prospect. He added: "Trevor told us the band have been scheduled to appear, but that he could not promise us anything."

The Syndicate release their debut single Taxis on the new Burnley-based Sticky label on Monday, and call in at the Manchester University in support of Marion and Tiny Monroe on Friday night.

The lads - singer and guitarist Damian Manville, bass player Sean Howarth, guitarist Paul Yates and drummer Chris Precious - have already visited Norway, Germany, Denmark and Italy on the tour.

And in Italy, an unfortunate bout of flu toppled Marion, leaving The Syndicate to headline a gig in front of 500 people.

See Pulse in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph on Saturday for a review of The Syndicate's Paris show.
