ROAD runner Lisa Richardson is having her first stab at the London Marathon and aims to boost the SuperScan Appeal.
Lisa, 27, of Belper Street, Blackburn, has been a keen fell runner since she gave up smoking two-and-a-half years ago. She also trains with Blackburn Road Runners.
She usually runs about 40 miles a week and has already taken part in the Yorkshireman race, another 26-mile challenge in the hills of Yorkshire.
She works at Prestige Medin Ltd, Blackburn, and her bosses have agreed to fund her fare to London and her accommodation.
"I am a bit nervous about the marathon because I prefer fell running to road running," said Lisa. "I started fell running because I was worried about putting weight on after I stopped smoking. It's helped me not to get back into it and I feel wonderful now.
"I decided to support the SuperScan Appeal because it can help a lot of people."
Lisa would be interested to hear from anyone who can offer sponsorship. She can be contacted at Prestige Medin Ltd, Clarendon Road, Blackburn.
