GREAT Harwood Town boss Mick Higgins has parted company with the UniBond club, writes TOBY CHAPMAN.

Higgins, along with assistant boss David Hamilton met with chairman Bill Holden last night and agreed to sever their ties with the Showground.

Great Harwood have struggled this season and currently stand bottom of the First Division.

And on Tuesday night the club lost heavily against Lancaster City in the first leg of the Unifilla First Division Cup semi-final.

"You are judged on results and the chairman decided that the current situation could not go on," said Higgins.

"It's been difficult but an experience I do not regret and I feel I have come out of it a better person. But in the end I just could not compete financially," he added.
