A CONCRETE slab broke the leg of six-year-old Daniel Moore, who spent two days in hospital.
Daniel, of Bridge Street, Rishton, was playing out with friends in Sands Close, Rishton, when the slab fell on him.
His mother, Susan Moore, said the slab should not have been left where it was and would complain to Hyndburn Council.
Daniel was treated in Blackburn Infirmary and is now back home and using a walking frame.
The council's director of technical services Jack Hayden said a contractor had been doing environmental work improving a flagged area on behalf of the council. Several concrete slabs had been stacked up over the weekend.
It appeared that the youngsters had been trying to move the slabs when the accident occurred.
