A PROTESTING neighbour has failed to halt plans by Westholme School for a new car park and new pedestrian access to Preston New Road, Blackburn.
The car park will be re-sited in a grassed area in the northern corner of the site, allowing the present car park to be cordoned off for use as a playground.
Blackburn planning and highways committee received a letter from a neighbour who said the grassed area was visible from her house and that surfacing and the parking of 19 cars on the site would create visual, noise and pollution.
Planning officers said the nearest car space was 15 metres from the house.
