THREE Blackburn Rovers' Premiership stars hit the comeback trail against West Bromwich Albion Reserves at Ewood Park tonight.
Wingers Stuart Ripley and Jason Wilcox will both get a run-out as they begin their drive towards full match fitness.
And Rovers skipper Tim Sherwood will add further strength to Terry Darracott's second XI. He will return to competitive action following a two-match suspension.
Rovers Assistant boss Tony Parkes explained: "We've had a horrendous injury list for several months and it is really good news to welcome both Stuart and Jason back in the same fixture. They should get a 90 minute run-out."
Ripley had been sidelined for several weeks with a hamstring injury while Wilcox has fought to shake off an ankle injury. But there will be no place for Chris Sutton. He has suffered a reaction to the ankle injury which has persistently dogged his Premiership season. Parkes added: "Chris has had further problems with the ankle since the Notts County game last week. Hopefully, it is not long term."
Tonight's Pontins League fixture gives Rovers fans an opportunity to see the second string on home turf for the first time this season.
The lower tier in the Jack Walker will be open, entrance by turnstiles L and J, one for the Blackburn End section and one for the Darwen End.
Season ticket holders are admitted free to home reserve games on production of their book. £3 adults, £1 conc. Kick-off at Ewood is 7.00 pm.
