BUTCHER Dave Paintin landed two top awards when he entered a national sausage competition.
47-year-old Dave who runs a shop in Whalley Road, Accrington, was up against skilled sausage makers from across the country at the Foodex Meatex Competition held at the NEC, Birmingham. But he still managed to come second and fourth with his pork sausages in two separate events.
Delighted Dave said: "We have entered competitions before but the highest were have ever come in the past was twelfth.
"We were really pleased to win because top butchers from across the country take part in the event. It was quite an achievement for us to win anything."
Andrew Garvey, from British Meat, said: "There is no doubt that this is an extremely important win for any butcher and a great reflection on his sausage making skills."
