A RECORD shop and restaurant have fallen out of tune over an unwanted exchange of music and smells.
And now The Ministry Of Vinyl is ready to quit its position in Lord Square, Blackburn.
Shop boss Ronnie Brown only moved his music business to Lord Square last last year, but says there have been constant sounds of disapproval from the neighbouring Russells cafeteria.
He said: "The music I play in the shop travels through the air vents and the smells from the cafe waft through into my shop. It's because of the way the building was erected.
"The cafe have got upset about it and I understand how they feel, so I have been keeping the volume down. But at the end of the day I have to be able to play music." Ronnie now hopes to find suitable alternative premises as soon as possible.
Valerie Eddleston, who works for Russells, said: "There have been a few complaints from customers sitting in our balcony area.
"We only have background tapes on but they can hear the thud, thud, thud sound from next door.
"But it is a shame for him really. People don't really know there is a record shop there and tend to walk past."
