HEALTH authority members slammed the Government and their regional bosses who insisted on an extra £1 million savings in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
The most savage spending cuts the district service had ever seen slashed almost £2.5 million from the following year's budget and threatened services, development plans and jobs. Officials confessed that they were still £250,000 short of their target.
