BLACKBURN Hawks players figured prominently in the British Ice Hockey Writers Awards announced today in 'Powerplay' magazine, the award sponsor.
Coach Ryan Kummu, expected to line up for Super League Cardiff next year, and forward Steve Chartrand were named in the Division One all star team of six selected by the experts.
And John Haig, runner up in the Divisional Players' Player of the Year award, was selected in the Division One British All Star team, the second year in succession Haig has been chosen.
Former Hawk Robin Davison, who joined Swindon early last season, also made the British select team.
Although Ryan Kummu looks to have played his last game for manager Mike Cockayne, the pair are retaining a link - in a newly-formed business importing quality used ice hockey equipment from the North American leagues.
Anyone requiring details can contact Cockayne at Blackburn Arena (Tel. 01254 263063).
