MORE than 5,000 young athletes will descend on Blackburn this summer with dreams of sporting success.
The Lancashire Youth Games takes place on June 15 and 16 and competitors aged nine to 16 will meet in 25 different sports at venues including Witton Park.
Entry forms for the games will be issued by Blackburn Council next month.
Coun Kathy Ramsden, vice-chairman of the community and leisure services committee, said: "We are delighted to be hosting this prestigious event and I am sure it will attract many participants and spectators."
