POLICE have issued an appeal for anyone who saw a robber running away from a building society in the Rosegrove area to come forward.
The man, who said he had a gun, held up the Marsden office and was seen running in the Metcalfe Street area at about 9.30am yesterday.
He went into the premises and frightened a woman cashier who handed over what was believed to be a few hundred pounds.
The man then took off his tan leather bomber jacket with a sheepskin lining after the robbery and made off on foot.
He is described as white, aged 25, 5ft 8in, thin build, light brown unkempt hair with several days' facial growth and a pale complexion.
No-one was hurt in the raid and anyone with information can contact police on 01282 425001.
