CLASSROOM strikes would hit teachers and play into the hands of the Government, Shadow Education Secretary Jack Straw said today. The Blackburn MP spoke out after the biggest teaching union threatened disruptions over pay, negotiating rights, primary school class sizes and free periods.
Mr Straw said: "Teachers' strikes hurt the children not the employers and would simply play into the hands of the Government."
