STEEL firm Avesta Sheffield Distribution has won an award for safety.
The Guide-based firm picked up a Five Star Health & Safety Management Award from the British Safety Council for its accident record.
"This is an excellent achievement.
"If all companies followed its example and reached this standard I am quite sure we could reduce accidents at work by 75 per cent and save 400 lives a year," said James Tye, director general of the British Safety Council.
"Avesta Sheffield Distribution has taken the initiative and is among an elite of top companies for its safety record."
