TEENAGE starlet Lee Trundle provided two moments of magic which ensured the Magpies stretched their remarkable record to four successive victories at Winsford's Barton Stadium.

FA Trophy rival Sammy McIlroy must have been given food for thought after watching Trundle add to his market value with an impressive strike in each half, to end any Chorley fears of relegation.

The Magpies' precocious talent grabbed his first on 15 minutes with a perfectly weighted lob over advancing keeper Phil Robinson, after racing onto Dean Emerson's clever through ball.

Jock Russell came close to an equaliser soon after but his well struck shot was brilliantly saved by Simon Marsh, before Trundle sealed victory with a stroke of genius on the hour.

Receiving Grant Leitch's quick pass, he smartly turned his marker on the edge of the box before planting a firm shot inside Robinson's near post.

Despite late snap shots from Russell and former Magpie Charlie Boyd, the Chorley defence, which included loan signing Alex Jones, recorded their first clean sheet in 12 matches.
