A BIGGER car park behind the new north stand at Turf Moor will not cause too much disturbance to residents, council officers say.
Burnley FC's planning application for an extension of the car park from 140 vehicles to 309 spaces was deferred at the last planning and environment committee after councillors raised concerns about nuisance to local residents.
The application will go before the committee again on Thursday, when officers are recommending approval.
On match days, vehicles will enter the car park from Brunshaw Road, with the gates being shut about 40 minutes before the kick-off to coincide with the police closure of Brunshaw Road.
After the match, and once most pedestrians have cleared the ground, vehicles will leave via Belvedere Road.
Car park users will have a ticket and allocated space, and the entrance will be controlled by stewards to prevent general parking.
The environmental health and cleansing services department have also expressed concern about noise and disturbance to neighbours, particularly at anti-social hours.
They have recommended better protection in place of the existing concrete fence and say lighting should be controlled to prevent nuisance.
Officers agree the main issue is the effect from manoeuvring vehicles.
A report says access to Belvedere Road will only be used after first team matches, once a fortnight during the season, so that disturbance experienced by residents of houses adjoining the roadway will be limited.
Boundary treatment will help to protect adjoining properties, the officers say.
