TRADESMEN are being urged to apply to a new skills registration scheme.
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme covers people in ten trades, including bricklayers, carpenters, joiners and decorators.
New trades covered by the scheme include roof sheeters, plasterers and stonemasons.
The CSCS is open to experienced workers and those who are training.
Applicants for full membership must have either an NVQ or SVQ construction qualification at level 2 or 3.
The aims of the scheme is to enable employers to identify job applicants with the correct training.
