ONE of the region's most imaginative dance clubs is about to be unveiled by two East Lancashire businessmen.

The £3 million club complex will be opened on Wednesday in a converted 18th century oil distribution mill in Bolton.

The club represents the completion of a dream for Burnley-bred brothers John and Pino Musso.

The Mussos have also got 'well advanced' plans for a new leisure and hotel complex, including a casino, at the five-acre Bank Hall site, which they own, in Burnley.

Before that goes ahead, however, the brothers, who were brought up in Albion Street, are set to pop the champagne corks on the opening night of their 'Village Oil Works' club complex.

The club will feature two main venues, Club Mondo for the 'discerning over-25's' and The Temple, for trendy dance fans.

It will also boast a 100-seat Italian trattoria serving Sicilian-inspired dishes and numerous other attractions include nine bars.

John Musso, 37, said: "We in Lancashire don't realise the power of Lancashire. We've got a lot of people here and a very strong culture. We set the pace musically and in fashion."

Mr Musso, who has previously worked in promotions and marketing for the 'Miss World' Mecca organisation, has also been a DJ in clubs throughout the country, working in East Lancashire clubs under the name of John Vee in the Eighties.

His 39-year-old brother set up Pyramid Construction in 1984 and has since specialised in leisure developments, including Bellini, Da Salvatore and Pacino's in Burnley.

Although this is their biggest project, John Musso has an even greater ambition. "I'm a Clarets fan and if I make enough money I want to buy Burnley FC and take it back to where it used to be," he said. "The fans deserve it."
