THE parents of terminally ill toddler Amy Allan are hoping for a miracle when she visits Lourdes.
The two-year-old suffers from Batten's Disease. There is no known cure for the disease which will make her blind and deaf and lead to her death within the next few years.
Well-wishers set about raising funds to send her and mum Debbie to Lourdes, and to pay for equipment she will need when her condition deteriorates. In just four months they have raised over £4,000.
Yesterday, Amy and Debbie of Southworth Street, Blackburn, joined a trip to Lourdes organised by the Handicapped Children's Pilgrimage Trust.
Debbie said: "We have been bowled over by people's generosity."
The next fund-raiser is at the Furthergate Working Men's Club on April 25. Contact the club on 01254 54895.
