FORMER Great Harwood Town favourite Martin Eatough has been named as new boss at the Showground, writes TOBY CHAPMAN.
Eatough helped mastermind Lancaster City's promotion from the UniBond First Division this season as skipper and is a major coup for Great Harwood chairman Bill Holden.
"He's the man I wanted all along and I'm delighted he's decided to take on the job.
"I now want the people of Great Harwood to get behind the team," said Holden.
Eatough began his playing career with Great Harwood and is delighted to be back 'home'.
"They were my first non-league club and I have a lot of affection for Great Harwood," said Eatough, who will be joined by Dave Sargeant as his assitant.
Eatough will be in charge for Saturday's home clash with Ashton United and is not forecasting a miracle fightback.
"The transfer deadline has gone and I would have liked more time and I know it's going to be difficult to avoid the drop," added Eatough.
