TWO of the twin boroughs' choirs are competing in the UK's largest amateur choral event this Sunday (April 14).
Nelson Civic Junior Choir and Rosehill Junior School, Burnley, will sing in the regional heat of the 1996 Sainsbury's Choir of the Year at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester.
The youngsters are auditioning against seven other youth choirs and alongside seven adult choirs.
It's one of 15 auditions to be held across the UK. Winners go through to the national selection stage in June when choirs will be chosen to participate in the November semi-finals, which will be televised on BBC2 early next year.
