ON June 14, I will reach the Biblical three-score-years-and-ten, and I am celebrating surviving that long by cycling 70 kilometres sponsored at 7p a kilometre, to raise funds for the charity Counsel and Care for the Elderly, of which I am the Chairman.
I would like 70 other people of 70-plus to undertake a similar cycle ride, sponsored in the same way, at any time during June. We would very much like to raise £25,000, and we can achieve this if enough people take part.
Counsel and Care is a registered charity founded in 1954 which helps and advises over 20,000 older people and their carers each year.
Any interested septuagenerian (or anyone even older) cyclists can obtain full details by contacting me.
