GOALKEEPER Richard Harrison made a string of superb saves as Accrington Stanley went down to defeat at next-to-bottom Matlock in the UniBond Premier Division.
Harrison's first save came in the second minute when he denied Stewart Anderson. After 26 minutes a deep cross by Lee Rogerson to the far post was met by Peter Mellor whose fierce shot was saved.
From the resulting corner Harrison saved well from Andy Burns. Six minutes later Harrison made a similar double save from Darren Thornton and Brian Welch.
Against the run of play Matlock went ahead on 35 minutes, Rob Mulloy saving a Darrell Fox shot but the rebound fell to Richard Taylor whose shot went in off the post.
In the second half Stanley were awarded a penalty but again Harrison was the hero, saving Darren Quick's spot kick. Matlock's second goal came on 74 minutes, Mark Cully heading beyond Mulloy.
