CHORLEY manager Dave Sutton remained defiantly upbeat about his side's chances of reaching Wembley after seeing the Magpies concede two goals in the last six minutes of this FA Umbro Trophy semi final first leg at Macclesfield to finish 3-1 down.
"We will just have to beat them next week. We can still do it - there is no difference in quality between the teams but you can't afford to give goals away against a decent side. It was just bad defending.
"Even at 2-1 we should have been able to keep it to that. In the first half we played really well and in fact I am disappointed not to have won the game after the great start we had. "But one or two players are not really match fit at the moment because of niggling injuries and it showed in the later stages."
Assistant boss Steve Doyle added: "I am afraid we were just a bit naive at the end and with all the experience we have in the side, that shouldn't have been the case. But we can still turn it round. It will be a different game altogether at our place next Saturday."
