TWO friends have taken up the challenge of the SuperScan Superwalk and plan to complete one of the 20-mile routes.
But not everyone taking part in the mammoth fund-raising event on Sunday, May 19, will be attempting the whole course - people can walk as far or as short a distance as they like.
Justine Smith of Cranberry Close, Darwen, and Anita Talbot, of Blackburn Road, Darwen - who both work in the advertising department at the Lancashire Evening Telegraph - will be among the hundreds of walkers supporting SuperScan.
Organisers say that more than 250 people will be setting off from Blackburn on the day.
Many other fund raisers will be walking on routes around Burnley, Nelson, Colne, Haslingden and Bacup.
But more people are still needed to make the day a resounding success.
People wanting to get involved can register by ringing the Superwalk hotlines on 01254 293634, or 293635, or by filling in a Superwalk form available at Evening Telegraph offices, or printed in the paper.
It should then be posted to Queen's Park Hospital, Haslingden Road, Blackburn, BB2 3HH, and sponsor forms will be sent out.
Recent walkers to register include: C Ferguson, Jack Aspin, Mr and Mrs Lomax, Anne-Marie Eden, Jean Eden, S Parkinson, S West, Mrs H Smith, Mr P Slinger, Chris Chapman, M Chapman, Jean Reddington, Ann Watson, Joanne, Terry and Sue Chapman, Emma Knowles, Jean Kenyon, Brenda Knowles, Julie Nelson, J Mackley, Mr and Mrs McDonald, HDSO Superstrollers, J Butler, B Connell, Marjorie Ferguson, Julie Butler, Julie Barnes, Stephanie Johnson, James Baron, Christine Rogers, M and D Trickett, T Hendham, I Parker, Ian Balshaw, A Ali, J Kennedy, J Ashworth, P Broxop, G Bannister, J Daley, Mr Daley, Mrs Cook, A Crenshaw, P and P Jones, Susan West, R Smith, Sara Tillotson, J Banister, J Eyles, Louise Jones, J Smart, J Soutter, J, C and K Hargreaves, K Byrom, K Birtwistle, C Holden.
