DETECTIVES were today probing a cash and carry con which netted two tricksters £250,000-worth of cigarettes.

They pulled off the great sting in Blackburn after weeks of careful planning, hitting several cash and carry warehouses.

In three days they bought huge quantities of cigarettes and paid by cheques which later bounced. One shop lost more than £100,000 worth of stock to the conmen.
