TINY five years old Ben Coope of Hurst Street, Leigh, is a giant of a hero!
For Ben, who was staying overnight with his father Paul, 27, in Arthur Street, helped to save his life after Paul suffered an epileptic fit.
Ben , a pupil of Bedford Hall Methodist School, wearing only pyjamas, ran barefoot through the empty streets of Leigh onto Twist Lane until he saw a man in his 20s whom he called upon to help.
The man, who the family are desperate to trace so they can thank him, went back with Ben and called an ambulance which rushed Paul to Wigan Infirmary.
Proud mum Andrea, 26, said: "I think Ben is a real hero! I couldn't believe that someone so young would have the presence of mind to try to get another adult to help his dad. It was amazing! He was so worried when he heard Paul making strange sounds that he didn't even think about putting anything on his feet.
"The man who came back with Ben called for an ambulance and then disappeared. We would desperately like him to come forward so we can thank him."
And Ben's grandparents Louis and Dorothy Duddle of Garton Drive, Lowton, added: "Ben has delighted us by his actions. He is definitely our little hero!"
