WOODBANK kept the pressure on League leaders Denton Villa with a lacklustre performance before winning 3-1 against Chadderton.
The Reds clearly feeling the effect of their eleven game unbeaten Easter tour of Holland were always second to the ball but nevertheless took the lead on 12 minutes when Carl Greenhalgh danced down the right, teed up the ball and played an inch perfect cross for Danny English to arrow a header into the net.
Six minutes later Stuart Kelley long throw was half cleared to English whose volley struck Ian Owens to wrongfoot the visiting keeper.
With Danny English, Carl Price and Peter Lunn limping out of the action at half time to join already sidelined team mates Zaid Mosawy and Steven Taylor, Chadderton took advantage of the mass reorganisation to pull a goal back. Woodbank sealed victory in the 82nd minute when Owens headed home from a Rob Phillips corner.
