IT will be an emotional night for nightclub DJ Paul Taylor when the Angels era draws to close next week.
Paul, joint owner of the fashionable Burnley night-spot, was resident record-spinner there way back in 1974 when it first opened.
He's anticipating a memorable last night on Saturday, April 27. "My emotions will be very high, that's for sure," said Paul. "I suppose it will depend on the crowd on the night but the way people are talking, they won't be holding back."
Shopping development plans for the Curzon Street site have spelled the end for the popular club, which has regularly attracted clubbers from across the North West - and further afield - over the past few years.
Paul and co-owner Steve Farkas will launch a new bar on Red Lion Street later this year, but the Angels' name will go forever when the present building is closed.
Tickets for the event are going like hot cakes, and are expected to sell out well in advance. Excitement among dancers is mounting as some special events are staged in the build up to the big night.
On Friday, April 26, Paul is undertaking a one-off marathon session. He will DJ for at least five hours and play a set of classic tracks from the last 10 years - the music which has inspired the Angels' famous atmosphere. Coaches are already booked from as far away as Brighton and Barrow-in-Furness.
