CLITHEROE's eight match unbeaten run came to an end at Newcastle when two goals in the last 15 minutes gave Newcastle the points.
On a sticky pitch and against the run of play Newcastle took the lead on 38 minutes when Mark Massey from close range beat Nash.
Clitheroe responded quickly when, on 45 minutes, Geoff Smith from 25 yards out, picked his spot and the ball whistled into the net.
The Blues were finding it difficult to break down the Newcastle defence and on 75 mins Adrian Dunn scored to give Newcastle the lead and following a cross from the right, John Burndred scored his 18th goal of the season when no defenders picked him up and his header beat Walsh to make the final score 3-1.
