YOUR regular correspondent, David Pearson, is courageous and almost alone in continuing to defend the record of the current Conservative Government.
Over recent years he has also been a regular candidate in the local government elections and yet, this year, his name is missing.
This mystery deepens - to the extent that, in Blackburn's Bank Top Ward, where Mr Pearson lives, there is no Tory candidate at all.
Why not? one wonders. It surely can't be that Mr Pearson is nervous about offering your readers the chance to give a verdict on his opinions, can it?
PHIL RILEY, (Secretary, Blackburn Labour Party), Pleckgate Road, Blackburn.
