DEVELOPERS hope to submit plans for a multi-million pound leisure scheme which could provide more than 300 jobs within the next three months.
Solihull-based Kingspark Developments Limited are working with Blackburn and Hyndburn Councils on the proposed leisure facilities at Whitebirk and in Accrington town centre.
Plans include a 'centre-piece' 10-screen multiplex, restaurants, nightclub and family entertainment centre on the Greenbank Business Park at Junction 6 of the M65, linked to a cinema, restaurant and fast food bar in Accrington.
Director Alan Sargant said: "It's early days but we are quite happy to be associated with a scheme which provides jobs and leisure opportunities for thousands of people.
"That is why the bidding to further the project was so fiercely fought."
Kingspark directors have already been involved in similar leisure projects in Nottingham, Derby and Coventry and have completed developments totalling two million square feet in the last two years.
The company will be funding the project from their own resources.
The project forms part of the Blackburn City Challenge initiative.
