AN anxious couple were awaiting news of a teenage daughter whom they feared could be caught up in the fighting in Romania.
Christine Cramsie travelled to the country from her home in Blackburn with a group of young people from the Prince's Trust.
A soldier was recovering after being blinded by an Iraqi mine in the Gulf. Gary Lomas, 26, of Old Langho, Blackburn, lost his right eye in the blast.
