CLEAN-UP volunteers were amazed at what they found when they cleaned up a section of the Leeds-Liverpool canal. There was a traffic bollard, obviously far from home, among the rubbish from the canal close to the Moorings pub, Blackburn. Catharine Warland with Ann Minoprio, Andrea Baker, Marjorie Haddock and Judith McCormack, all members of the Blackburn branch of Soroptimists International, removed 28 bags of rubbish of all sorts. Andrea Baker said: "It's amazing how much rubbish there was. We clean the path every year for National Environment Week."
