THE number of day pupils attending independent schools in Lancashire has risen. There are now 6,576 boys and 6,107 girls.
A survey by the Independent Schools Information Service shows a rise of 0.2 per cent, set against fee rises 4.8 per cent.
Gerald Vinestock, regional director of ISIS North, said: "This is the second year of growth, all be it modest. Since January, there have been a record number of calls to the ISIS office from parents enquiring about Lancashire schools."
There are 744 boarders.
