A SERVICE of remembrance and a rose planting ceremony will take place next to the children's playground in Bold Venture Park, Darwen to commemorate those killed in the Dunblane tragedy.
The lives of the 16 children and their teacher, Gwenne Mayer, formerly of Great Harwood, will be remembered at next Tuesday's ceremony.
The rose bush has been donated by Four Seasons garden centre after an appeal was launched by Councillor Paul Browne.
Fund-raising has continued throughout the town and a charity concert has been arranged for tonight, at the ICI Club, Bridge Street, Darwen.
A plaque will also be unveiled at Bold Venture Park in the coming weeks.
