CHORLEY were a shade unlucky to take nothing from an entertaining end to end game after battling determinedly with ten men from the twelfth minute.

Keeper Simon Marsh was dismissed for a challenge on Grant Morrow outside the penalty area but Dave McKearney proved such a capable replacement that he was given a great reception by the home fans in a crowd of 479 at the end of the match.

McKearney produced a number of first class saves, turning over a fierce shot from the lively Morrow and stopping a point blank header from Gary Evans before half time.

For Chorley a clever pull back by Grant Leitch set up an early chance for Brian Ross but the Trinity keeper saved well and late in the first half Adam Critchley's lob drifted off target with the keeper out of goal.

Fittingly it was Morrow, with a clever turn and low shot into the corner, who scored the only goal after 54 minutes. But the Magpies fought hard right to the end and Lee Trundle, after a typical piece of trickery, was unlucky to see the keeper pull off an instinctive save from his well struck shot.

Alex Jones and Andy Thorpe were outstanding at the heart of the Chorley defence but no one could overshadow McKearney who dived at the feet of Morrow in the closing stages to achieve another eye catching save.
