TURF Moor has been highly commended for the quality of its playing surface in the Wilkinson Sword Groundsman of the Year Awards.
Along with eight other clubs, Burnley received special mention by the judges who took into account nominations from clubs and referees, resources available to groundsmen and actual construction of pitches.
Best surface in the Premiership was Arsenal, in the First Division Wolverhampton Wanderers, in the Second Wycombe Wanderers and in the Third Wigan Athletic.
The judges' recognition is high praise indeed for Turf Moor groundsman Arthur Bellamy and his hardworking staff.
