AN INVESTIGATION was underway into how dangerous acid leaked into a Darwen Street.
Firefighters were called to a pool of hydrochloric acid in Chapel Street after a worried resident smelt the colourless, corrosive chemical which looked like a puddle of water.
Darwen fire brigade hosed the acid away and Blackburn Council environmental health officers were today investigating the incident.
