PROJECT worker Leah Jemson and Stephen Atherton, a resident of Rathbone Community Industry in Imperial Drive, Leigh, have their heads in the clouds.
But the pair are hoping kind hearted Journal readers will be prepared to back them in order to bring them back to earth!
For they are to take on the nerve-racking ordeal of a sponsored parachute jump on July 28 in aid of the charity which provides the chance for 16 to 25 year olds with learning difficulties to achieve more skills and independence.
The event will take place at the Black Knights Parachute centre in Lancaster and Stephen, who will be 18 later this month, is one of 10 residents at the centre.
He has already paid the initial £20 deposit for himself but is hoping for sponsorship for the remaining £80 needed by himself and a similar amount for Leah, plus further sponsorship money which will be used towards arranging a holiday abroad for all 10 residents.
Staff at the project feel the residents would benefit from such a holiday by extending their social skills and broadening their cultural development.
Anyone who can help with sponsorship is asked to contact Leah Jemson on 01942 607291.
