ST HELENS MPs' John Evans and Gerry Bermingham have commended both rugby teams and their supporters on their conduct in the wake of this year's Rugby League Challenge Cup Final last weekend.
A House of Commons Early Day Motion from both MPs said: "This House congratulates St Helens and Bradford Bulls Rugby League Football Clubs on the magnificent spectacle they put on at Wembley Stadium in the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final.
The House also commends both clubs' supporters on their wonderful display of sportsmanship and friendliness which made the occasion such a joyous event and which was an object lesson to fans of all other sports in how to behave and enjoy a truly great game.
Finally, whilst commiserating with Bradford Bulls, nevertheless, congratulations to Saints on their magnificent fight back to a record points scoring victory."
