RAISING cash for Bury Portage - the organisation which helps children with learning difficulties and supports families too - enthusiastic footballers turned out last Sunday to take part in a special match.
Players from Elton Fold Workingmen's Club played Elton Fold Elder Statesmen on the Newbold Street pitch and the result was a 7-7 draw.
Around £200 was raised for Portage with a fun-packed match and to aid the charity further there will be a musical night at Elton Fold Workingmen's Club on May 31.
At half time £600 raised by a football match held on Boxing Day between Elton Fold Veterans and Huntley Unionists Club was presented to two other local charities.
