ONE of Bury Art Gallery's most popular pictures, Spring Morning Haverstock Hill by Sir George Clausen, is bound for stardom in America.
It is expected to form one of the centrepieces of a major exhibition on Victorian Art to be held in Washington DC next year.
Originally donated by the Aitken family in 1915 the popular painting has been used on countless calendars and other publications over the years.
The National Gallery of Art in Washington DC is putting together a collection for the exhibition planned to begin next Spring to last for several months.
A researcher has already travelled from Washington to examine the picture and look at others in the art gallery.
