A SCHOOL is hoping a new driving course will help make the motorists of the future safer.
Year 11 pupils at Witton Park High School, Blackburn, are taking part in a pre-17 driving preparation course.
They had had 10 weeks of theory lessons before getting behind the wheel for off-road driving in the school car park with British School of Motoring instructors.
The aim of the scheme is to encourage safe driving before youngsters even get their provisional licence.
The project was sponsored by BSM and Midland Bank.
