FEARS grew in the North West today about the effects from the fallout of the Soviet radioactive cloud which swept over Britain.
Anxious parents, pregnant women and farmers jammed the switchboards of the Agriculture Minister and the nuclear safety watchdog demanding information.
As the Government came under increasing pressure to release more details about radiation levels, officials issued a 'don't panic' plea.
