RUN MACHINE Shahid Nawaz kept up his hot pace in the Vaux Ribblesdale League, scoring 93 runs in a scorching victory over Edenfield.
The Read professional also picked up four wickets with team mate Terry Little scoring 48 not out as they rattled up 217-3.
Barnoldswick joined them at the top of the table after Victory Park professional James Peterson scored 72 in their 31-run victory over Great Harwood who never recovered after losing five wickets for just 17 runs.
Two slick catches from Earby professional Jonathan Harvey, ended Cherry Tree's hopes as they slumped to 92 all out on a difficult wicket at the Applegarth. Earlier the home side recovered from a poor start thanks to 56 from Andrew Pickles as Gary Bolton took 6-63 for Cherry Tree. Padiham professional Joseph Grand produced the bowling performance of the day taking 6-47 against Ribblesdale Wanderers while Gurinder Singh scored a half century. Earlier Graham Monk took 6-52 to restrict Padiham to 136-9.
Ian Billcliff was on form with the bat, socring 78 from Blackburn Northern, but it was not enough as Clitheroe edged a five wicket win. The Ribble Valley sides' professional, Jonathan Fielding took 6-76 and Steve Whalley, who has joined the club from Fulwood, scored 77 to see Clitheroe home.
A half century from Settle professional Paul Beech gave them a six-wicket victory over Baxenden while Oswaldtwistle skittled the Whalley batsmen for 98 and went on to take maximum points.
