TWO charities will benefit from a fund-raising coffee morning - and organiser Ruth Loft hopes it will be a record.
Ruth has already collected more than £18,800 for Breakthrough - a charity aiming to raise £15 million for the UK's first specialised breast cancer research centre.
She will also be donating part of the morning's cash to the East Lancashire SuperScan Appeal. The event will include a bring and buy sale, a cake stall, a raffle and gifts, and will be held on Saturday May 25 between 10am and noon at the Moat House Hotel, Blackburn.
Ruth has held many events in her own home, at Blackburn Town Hall and at Beardwood Hospital but this is the first coffee morning she has planned at a hotel.
She is hoping for a record attendance to beat her own 'best' of 100 guests, raising more than £900.
Anyone wishing to buy tickets for the event, priced at £1, or to support Breakthrough should contact Ruth on 01254 262324.
