SHOPPERS look on in horror as a young woman is flung into the air by a speeding car.
But there was no tragic ending to the story because it was all a big stunt being filmed by the BBC for a new series of the popular drama, Hettie Wainthrop Investigates.
Residents were called in as extras for the dramatic scenes shot in New Bank Road, Blackburn.
And some of them had their cameras at the ready to record the action for posterity!
Actress and stuntwoman Daniella Decosta, who plays a character called Trudy being investigated by the housewife super sleuth wore specially padded clothing for the accident.
Residents watched in disbelief as she picked herself up, unhurt, after flying across the metro's bonnet.
