UNSWORTH and Stand experienced the highs and lows of life in the Central Lancashire Cricket League.
The former were the top scoring local side in the weekend's cricket programme with a winning 224 for 8 while the latter scored the fewest, just 60, but were involved in a thrilling tie.
Mughal (67 no) led the way for Unsworth who then blasted out Crompton for 120, Rick Blackman 5 for 30.
And it was another superb bowling performance from Mike Warden who finished with 6 for 31, which got Stand their level pegging finale at Royton, home bowlers sharing the wickets.
Set to chase Stockport's 213 for 4 (Jamshed 102 no) Radcliffe were all out for 180.
Bury's 162 total in the Manchester Association was just too much for Ashton-on-Mersey who reached 154 for 9, Kennedy 5 for 39. in their game Brooksbottom were 107 for 9 chasing bolton's 176.
Woodbank also faced a chase in the Lancashire county league and despite Neil Ridehaugh's 67 they never really threatened Denton SLs 214 for 8. Prestwich were all out for 128 at Roe Green where the home side cruised to a nine wicket win.
Gritty batting from Greenmount (163 for 9) thwarted visitors Kearsley who had posted 211 for 6 in the Bolton league. Home pro Andy Williams hit 54.
In the Bolton Association Elton professional Darren Foy took 6 for 41 as Golborne crashed to 99 all out chasing 167.
Walshaw were less happy, all out for 61 after visitors Clifton had rattled up 203 for 6.
There were no such problems for Ramsbottom whose five point haul at Edenfield moves them up to second place in the Lancashire League. Peter Sleep (56) top scored in the Rams' 154 for 5 and then took 5 for 20 as Enfield struggled to an all out 80. It completed an excellent weekend for the club who on Saturday made 124 for 8 to overhaul Colne's 123 total.
Edenfield (166 for 7) held on doggedly in their Ribblesdale League game at Read (217 for 3) to deny the home side a maximum.
